Why Give

Most of us don’t give much thought to hospitals or other health care services until we need them. Yet, at one time or another, we seek health care for ourselves or someone we love. We all want and deserve the best care possible when we need it.

At Atlantic General, we are fortunate to have an excellent, not-for-profit hospital with superb doctors and a good financial base.

But there are no guarantees that the current financial base will always exist.

Every day, hospitals and other health care providers face new financial challenges in the delivery of health care.

What can you do to ensure quality health care for Atlantic General Hospital?

Your gifts, combined with the contributions of others, will maintain the “margin of excellence” for AGH and our community. You will experience personal satisfaction and the joy of knowing that you have helped to preserve expanded health care services for future generations.

Hundreds of individuals and businesses already support Atlantic General Hospital and Health System. Take a moment to browse through some of our giving opportunities, or contact us now to discuss how you can help Atlantic General be here for generations to come.

Atlantic General Hospital Foundation's 2019-2020 Annual Appeal

As a not-for-profit, community-based hospital, Atlantic General Hospital and Health System holds itself accountable to the people we serve — you, your loved ones, and every person who lives in or visits our community. With your ongoing philanthropic community support of the Annual Appeal, we will:

  • Expand breast health services by adding a second 3D mammography unit in the Eunice Q. Sorin Women’s Diagnostic Center in the hospital.
  • Add a multidisciplinary breast clinic at the John H. ‘Jack’ Burbage, Jr. Regional Cancer Care Center, allowing women diagnosed with breast cancer to meet with all the specialists involved in their care as a group to discuss treatment plans;
  • Put a safe seniors outreach program into action by creating a mobile integrated health unit that will provide a home assessment for individuals who frequently make non-urgent calls to 911, and coordinate care and connect them with appropriate community resources to help them attain optimal quality of life and remain home;
  • Work with Worcester County Public Schools to implement school-based primary care telehealth for primary care and acute care sick visits for children;
  • Develop an Outpatient Rehabilitation Center to improve access and convenience of rehabilitation services for individuals recovering from orthopedic surgery, cardiac illness or surgery, or those who need physical therapy to manage chronic pain;
  • Continue to work with our faith-based partners and community agencies to provide mission-driven community education and health services.

Atlantic General Hospital is expanding our existing community resources and creating new ones to achieve our “2020 Vision”, which is to improve the health of the population, enhance the patient care experience, and reduce the cost of care in our community. As medical care advances, your community hospital is committed to meeting the needs of our growing community in our community. No dollars leave our community.

Any amount of philanthropic support will help make our community healthier. Right here. Right now.
