Restricted visitation

At Atlantic General Hospital & Health System

In order to protect patients, caregivers and visitors, AGH is implementing changes to our visitor policy. As this is a rapidly evolving situation, these changes are in effect beginning March 20th until further notice:

  • No hospital visitors will be permitted, effective at noon on March 27, 2020.
  • No visitors are permitted in our Atlantic General Health System clinics, urgent care facilities or physician offices, with the exception of those who are caregivers for an individual seeking medical care. Anyone providing only transportation for a patient is asked to wait in their vehicle.
  • The cafeteria and chapel will only be available to associates, providers and those approved in the updated visitor policy.
  • AGHRx RediScripts pharmacy's store will not be available to the public. Any customers who need to pick up or drop off prescriptions will be able to do so through curb-side service. Just call 410-641-9240, and a staff member will come out to help you. If you do not have a cell phone, please call in advance.

Certain exceptions to the policy may be made in particular circumstances and with prior approval including:

  • For end-of-life care
  • Required caregivers
  • Two parents/caregivers of pediatric patients will be permitted as long as neither adult has flu-like symptoms.
  • Effective June 26, an ER patient can be accompanied by one family member/significant other, who must remain with the patient the entire visit.
