Atlantic General Hospital, the Town of Ocean City, and AARP Ocean City Chapter #1917, are co-sponsoring a free health fair for the community. The health fair is free and open to the public. The health fair will include: free health screenings -including carotid, respiratory, bone density, hearing, blood pressure, skin cancer, Brown Bag review of meds by AGHRx RediScripts pharmacists, lab draws for cholesterol panel and glucose (a 12 hours fast is required), special appearance by Pets on Wheels of Delmarva, and More! The Blood Bank of Delmarva will be holding a blood drive throughout the event as well. To make an appointment with the Blood Bank call, 888-8BLOOD (888-825-6638). Living Healthy with Hypertension For people with high blood pressure who want to learn how to better manage the condition. This is a free 1-time 2 ½ hour workshop.

Living Well Chronic Pain Self-Management Workshop Do you have pain that lasts more than 3-6 months, varies in intensity, affects one or more areas, has no common cure and creates chronic stress? If you answered yes to 2 or more of these symptoms, you will benefit from this workshop. It will give you tools to help you lead a life where your symptoms are better managed. This free 6 week interactive workshop will help you better manage your life with chronic pain.

Living Well Chronic Disease Self-Management Learn how to deal with the symptoms and challenges of living with a chronic condition to help you live a better life. This free 6 week interactive workshop will help you manage things like fatigue, frustrations, medication management and depression that often accompany living with a chronic condition.

Living Well with Diabetes Workshop Free 6 week workshop to learn how to deal with the symptoms of diabetes such as fatigue, pain, high and low blood sugar, stress and emotional issues such as depression, anger, fear, and frustration.

Stepping on Fall prevention workshop This is a free 7-week interactive program proven to improve the participant’s risk of falls. It includes balance and strength exercises as well as strategies to reduce fall risks in the home and when out in the community.

Living Well: Cancer Thriving and Surviving This workshop teaches individuals in recovery, those dealing with cancer treatment, and caregivers the various ways to live and thrive. You’ll learn how to manage your sleep and fatigue, enhance the mind-body connection, deal with your various emotions, regain fitness levels during and after the treatment, manage pain and healthy eating, and improve decision-making.
