Atlantic General Hospital Vice President Earns Certification in Executive Management

Berlin, Md.,– James M. Brannon, Vice President of Human Resources at Atlantic General Hospital, has earned board certification in healthcare management and been named a Diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, an international professional society representing close to 30,000 healthcare executives.

The formal announcement will be made at ACHE’s convocation ceremony, held during the organization’s annual Congress on Healthcare Management in Chicago, Il. on March 26, 2006. At present, close to 6,000 healthcare executives in the nation hold Diplomate status in ACHE. With comprehensive programs in credentialing, education, career development, publications, research, and public policy, the American College of Healthcare Executives works toward its goal of improving the health status of society by advancing healthcare leadership and management excellence.

To earn board certification, candidates must demonstrate their commitment to continuing education, progression in professional experience, and participation in voluntary healthcare and community affairs. They must also successfully complete comprehensive written examinations covering subjects related to healthcare management.

“All healthcare leaders recognize the need to stay on top of this ever changing field, and ACHE provides a wealth of resources to help meet that need,” said Brannon. “Their credentialing program simply recognizes a commitment to that goal. I am very appreciative of Atlantic General’s support in obtaining my Diplomate status.”
