AGH Community Painting for the Berlin Mural

We have been invited to help paint the fourth and final section of the Berlin Community Mural. For the last three years, the mural has been developed and painted section by section by local school children and staff, community organizations, and Berlin citizens. The mural has been painted at many locations around town, and now the last and final section is going to be painted here by our associates, medical staff, volunteers and patients under the supervision of lead project artist John Donato. The piece will demonstrate the importance of our hospital and health system in the community.
John is a professional mural artist who specializes in managing and creating whimsical community murals collaboratively with all age groups and skill levels. His fun and engaging paint sessions require no previous artistic experience and no planning. All you need to do is show up and be willing to try. John will take care of the rest and guarantee a fun experience no matter how little or how much you know about art. This will be an exciting and unique opportunity to participate in a unique and creative group activity that will be installed downtown as part of a visual legacy for the Berlin Community.
We will be painting in small groups over the course of 3 days from May 7-9th. John will be with the 16-foot panel in the main lobby of the hospital from 11 am- 2 pm and 4-7pm on Tuesday, May 7 and from 11 am -3 pm on Wednesday, May 8th. On Thursday, May 9th we will be painting in from 9:30 am - 3:30 pm at theBurbage Regional Cancer Center.
The final piece will be unveiled at the Atlantic General Hospital 26th Anniversary Celebration on May 16th prior to being installed on Main Street in Berlin. A portion of the mural will also be donated back to the hospital for all to enjoy.
