Key Quality Measures
Several organizations offer ratings for hospital performance and quality. Each employs its own set of criteria to measure various categories of care. The tables below represent quality measure data for heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, and surgical care as reported on the Hospital Compare web site. This reputable web site is maintained by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and other members of the Hospital Quality Alliance to improve transparency in healthcare and offer healthcare consumers the opportunity to compare hospitals’ quality on an apples-to-apples basis for a wide variety of treatments.
