At Atlantic General Hospital, we’re dedicated to providing quality vascular access care to chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients.
At one time, renal patients in our region faced big challenges in receiving vascular access care because of limited coordination between specialists and dialysis facilities. That’s why we established Vascular Access Services. Our mission is to work with patients and their physicians to ensure the best care possible.
With the expansion of AGH Vascular Access Services in early 2013, the latest technological capabilities are now available to meet the needs of dialysis patients. Among these are bedside ultrasound capabilities and a state-of-the-art vascular operating table.
The AGH Vascular Access team offers consultations for patients with peripheral artery/venous diseases that are related to hemodialysis vascular access and care. These include insertion, removal and exchange of temporary and semi-permanent dialysis catheters.
