The Atlantic General Hospital Auxiliary promotes the welfare of the hospital by promoting good public relations, providing service to the hospital, organizing health related projects and spearheading fund raising activities.
Over the years the Auxiliary has met its mission by providing more than 39,000 hours of donated volunteer service to the hospital annually. The volunteers who support the hospital by donating their time and expertise work in every department of our hospital and health system as well as in the community. Volunteers also serve on hospital teams and committees providing crucial insight and community support to our hospital.
While the Auxiliary is extremely generous in their donation of time, the organization also offers financial support to the institution. Over the past twelve years, the auxiliary has donated over $400,000 to the hospital and health system. This support funds equipment purchase and education needs for our community.
The Atlantic General Hospital Auxiliary has continually been recognized and applauded for its unwavering dedication to the Hospital, but none more so than in the receipt of a Governor’s Citation, and an annual certificate of achievement from the Maryland Association of Hospital Auxiliaries.
Funds are raised through yearly fundraising activities including fairs, parties, dinners, ceremonies, trips, raffles and events that are organized for the community throughout the year.
The auxiliary gift shop is the organization's largest fundraising project and we expect terrific results from our new thrift shop, which opened in January 2006.
The auxiliary expanded its role and membership with a new We Care program reaching out to those individuals that live alone in the community. This program provides a volunteer contact by phone to those registered in the program 365 days each year.
The Junior Auxiliary Group has also greatly impacted the hospital and the community. This is a group of volunteers who are not required to meet a service hour commitment, but whose sole function is to promote fund raising throughout the community for the hospital and health system. This is accomplished by organizing fun, affordable events and activities for associates and community members.
