Important Medical Tips

The main idea behind patient friendly billing here at Atlantic General Hospital is to provide you with enough detail to understand when, where, and from whom you received a service, how much you owe, and the amount billed to a third-party payer. We’ve designed our new hospital billing statements to be simpler, more visually appealing, and easier to read.

As part of creating our new patient friendly bills, we sought input from the community. From December, 2004 through February, 2005, we solicited your feedback in three different focus groups. We also handed out surveys in Outpatient Registration to identify patient concerns and preferences. Thanks to all of you who participated and offered your comments and feedback. We really appreciated hearing from you!

On July 1, 2005, we began sending out our new patient-friendly hospital bills. Below is a sample of our new summary bill with descriptions highlighting the enhancements we’ve made.
