Dear Community: I’m Dr. Kertrisa McWhite, the surgical breast oncologist at Atlantic General Hospital. In addition to performing surgery, I serve as the director of Atlantic General Hospital’s breast services for women and men diagnosed with cancer. |
|
I gained a wealth of knowledge regarding cancer risk assessment, screenings for those at high risk, and breast conserving surgeries through my Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Fellowship at the University of Texas, and I’m pleased to have the opportunity to share that expertise with my new patients on the Eastern Shore. I employ a multidisciplinary team approach to cancer treatment that includes the latest in chemotherapy and hormone treatments and radiation techniques. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Yale University before pursuing my doctorate of medicine at MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. I went on to a general surgery residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, N.J. and completed my training with the breast cancer surgery fellowship. I am proud to be a part of Atlantic General Hospital and look forward to serving area women’s healthcare needs. I see patients at my office within the James G. Barrett Medical Office Building on Atlantic General Hospital's campus as well as in Salisbury at the practice of Robert J. Davis, M.D. Sincerely, |
