Atlantic General Hospital’s Center for Joint Surgery opened in 2004.
Since then, we have remained committed to providing a comfortable and
supportive environment for patients who are undergoing orthopedic procedures
including joint replacement surgery and fracture repair surgery. Our specialized
inpatient unit provides the most technologically advanced treatments and
techniques available to patients today. In addition, we provide the added
safety and security of being treated at a licensed hospital.

The Center for Joint Surgery was developed in 2004 in response to the growing
demand for orthopedic procedures in the community. Our orthopedics and
joint surgery center offers education programs that include weekly tours
of the Center for patients scheduled to undergo surgery and community
lectures by our surgeons.
Your Experience with Our Center for Joint Surgery
The Center features eight private suites designed with patient comfort
in mind. Prior to checking in for a procedure, patients are given a full
tour of the unit along with preoperative education sessions and personal
meetings with therapists and nurses.
Upon discharge, and again six weeks post-surgery, we ask our patients to
complete satisfaction surveys, monitoring the preoperative admission process,
staff courtesy and helpfulness, room cleanliness, equipment ratings, pain
management, transition, progress, and more. This allows us to grow and
excel in our ability to provide a level of care that exceeds our patients’
