Liver disease is a major cause of death in the United States and is responsible for more loss of life than such common cancers as breast, colon or prostate. It is an exceptionally important health issue in the tri-county area of Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset, where alcoholism occurs at a greater rate than the national average.
The 2006 Visions for Total Health Conference will address liver disease with a breakout session conducted by Lee Klepper, MD, of Atlantic Gastroenterology. Depending on when alcoholism and liver disease is diagnosed, sufferers can slow down or even stop the harmful effects to their bodies.
To learn more about liver diseases and how they are diagnosed and treated, please join Dr. Klepper for his breakout session at the Visions for Total Health 2006 conference.
