NEW ATLANTIC IMMEDICARE CLINICS NOW OPEN AT THREE RITE AIDS ON EASTERN SHORE

Berlin, Md. – On Monday, Atlantic ImmediCare opened its doors within the Pocomoke City, Md. and Millsboro, Del. Rite Aids, joining the Atlantic ImmediCare in the Ocean Pines Rite Aid that opened a week earlier.

 

Launched by Atlantic General Hospital, Atlantic ImmediCare provides a convenient and less costly alternative to the emergency room for those who need care but cannot get an appointment with their regular physician or those seeking treatment for minor illnesses or injuries after typical office hours.

 

The new clinic’s hours give the community access to primary care 10 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and seven hours on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Whether you have a fever, a suspected ear infection or shingles, flu-like symptoms or pink eye, Atlantic ImmediCare’s certified registered nurse practitioners – under the guidance of Medical Director Nicholas Borodulia, MD – will give you quality care and direct access to more specialized and acute treatment options at Atlantic General Hospital.

 

An added benefit of the clinics’ affiliation with Atlantic General Hospital and Health System is the new electronic medical record.

 

Upon arrival at the Atlantic ImmediCare office, patients can sign in via a computer kiosk, noting their symptoms and personal health information typically collected during an appointment.

 

For individuals who are already established patients of an Atlantic General Health System physician, the details of their visit are included in their electronic record, in turn building a more complete medical history.

 

Regardless of whom a patient sees regularly, the electronic system will store the information from the visit for easy recall and updating should he or she return for future visits.

 

To keep costs reasonable – a basic office visit is $49 – Atlantic ImmediCare does not accept insurance, requiring payment at the time of the visit. The necessary supporting documents are provided to patients, however, so they can file for insurance reimbursement. For Medicare patients, a claim will be filed on their behalf and reimbursement from Medicare will be sent directly to the patient or policy holder.
