Junior Auxiliary Group Holds Annual Fashion Show Benefiting Scholarship Students

The Junior Auxiliary Group (JAG) of Atlantic General Hospital will be hosting their 3rd Annual Summer Solstice Fashion Show in June, benefiting Atlantic General Hospital’s James G. and Nancy W. Barrett Nursing Scholarship Fund, which allows talented nursing students to go to school cost-free.

Models will showcase fashions from Crazy Ladyz and Ruddo’s Golf. The event includes the runway show, cocktails, and a plated dinner, plus a Chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle, and great giveaways.

About James G. and Nancy W. Barrett Nursing Scholarship Fund:
The scholarship fund is named in honor of James G. and Nancy W. Barrett in recognition of the significant contributions the Barrett family has made to the hospital. James G. Barrett passed away in 2004 while serving as Chairman of the Atlantic General Hospital Board of Directors.

The program was created in 2000 to address workforce shortages within the healthcare industry. It provides selected nursing students with full payment of tuition and books, health care benefits and flexible work schedules.

Upon completion of their degree program and after passing the appropriate state licensure exams, scholarship recipients are required to work full-time at Atlantic General Hospital/Health System one year for each school year in the scholarship program.
