Residents in Pocomoke and the surrounding area no longer have to drive the 30 miles to Berlin for a bone density exam. In another effort to increase access to quality healthcare services in the community, Atlantic General Hospital and Health System has brought bone densitometry to southern Worcester County.
Osteoporosis is one of the most critical aspects of women’s health, particularly in later years. As with most health conditions, prevention and early detection are crucial. Bone density exams provide physicians with valuable information to assess a woman’s risk of osteoporosis or determine the best treatment for a current condition. The procedure is quick and painless and takes only minutes.
