Atlantic General Hospital offers Free Reiki Information Session

Atlantic General Hospital will host a free educational seminar in September about the practice and benefits of Reiki, a form of touch therapy that originated in the Far East. Reiki Master Valerie Mann will discuss the healing benefits of this ancient technique, which involves placing the hands in various positions on the body to direct positive energy, or ki, into the areas where it is needed to heal.

Practitioners of this alternative medicine therapy maintain that Reiki aides in healing serious problems such as multiple sclerosis, heart disease, cancer, skin diseases, and broken bones and improves the effectiveness of other types of therapy.
