The Berlin chapter of Women Supporting Women, in cooperation with Atlantic General Hospital, is sponsoring a retreat for breast cancer survivors and others coping with serious illness.

Scheduled for Saturday, November 4, 2006 at the Ocean Pines branch of the Worcester County Library, the “Alternative Approaches to Health” retreat will offer three guest speakers in addition to Dr. Kertrisa McWhite, director of breast care services at Atlantic General Hospital, who will be acting as Master of Ceremonies.

Susan Beverly will speak about the benefits of journaling during serious illnesses, Stephanie Porter, ND, doctor of naturopathy, will provide information about alternative therapies to traditional cancer care, and Matthew R. Young will give a speech on acupuncture.

A light breakfast will be served during the event, which will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Six exhibitors will provide participants with information on yoga, proper diet, music therapy, the Feldendkrais Method, exercise, massage and life management. The event is free and open to the public.
