Atlantic General Hospital recently received a $2000.00 grant from the Coastal Bays Association to help fund this year’s “Visions for Total Health” Conference to be held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006.
The grant was awarded to bring speakers and exhibits to the conference to educate the public about various issues affecting environmental health, one of three themes that will be covered at the annual conference. The environmental health tract will explore the health of our soil, air and coastal bays and what impact the environment has on the health of our communities.
“We feel that it’s important to include the environment health theme in this year’s conference because the health of the environment is so closely tied to our community’s total health” said Leila McCann, “Visions for Total Health” coordinator.
The other two themes of the conference are complimentary and alternative health, and traditional medicine.
For more information about the 2006 conference or its keynote speaker, world famous journalist and physician, Dr. Bob Arnott, please call Leila McCann, “Visions for Total Health” coordinator, at 410-641-9268.
