Atlantic General Hospital Medical Staff Elects New Officers

Berlin, Md.- The Atlantic General Hospital and Health System Medical Staff elected new officers and chiefs for 2006-2007 during their annual meeting held on November 11, 2005.

Chief of Staff is Edwin T. Castaneda, M.D., F.A.C.P. Castaneda, who has been on the staff at Atlantic General Hospital since 1994, is a graduate of St. Louis University College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Hackensack Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Vice Chief of Staff is Eric B. Bontempo, D.O. Bontempo is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Suburban General Hospital in Norristown, Penn., and his residency at Osteopathic Medical Center of Philadelphia. Dr. Bontempo has been on the staff at Atlantic General Hospital since 1997.

Chief of Medicine is Jeffrey A. Matzoni, D.O. Matzoni, who has been on the staff at Atlantic General Hospital since 1998, is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship at Delaware Valley Medical Center in Langhorne, Penn, and his residency at Milton S Hershey Medical Center at Penn State University in Hershey, Penn.

Chief of Surgery is Thomas D. Beck, D.O. Beck is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and his fellowship at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Penn. Dr. Beck has been on the staff at Atlantic General Hospital since 2002.
