Atlantic General Hospital and Health System is providing a series of free health screenings during the month of May at Atlantic ImmediCare in Ocean Pines and Millsboro, Del.
Skin cancer is a serious problem on the Eastern Shore, in part because of the large number of individuals who make their living off the land and the sea. Skin cancer is very treatable if caught early, however. On May 9 and 23, Atlantic General Hospital medical staff will provide free skin checks and education to any interested individuals.
The skin checks will be held 4 to 7 p.m. on May 9 at the Atlantic ImmediCare walk-in clinic in the Ocean Pines Rite Aid. The same screening will be provided at Atlantic ImmediCare in the Millsboro Rite Aid, 4 to 7 p.m. on May 23.
The second in a series of free lung function screenings is also scheduled for May 10, 4 to 7 p.m., at the Millsboro Atlantic ImmediCare. The screenings will be administered by a licensed respiratory therapist on staff at Atlantic General Hospital.
