Atlantic General Holds Falls Prevention Class

Atlantic General Hospital’s Healthy Happenings program is offering its next Stepping On class to the community beginning April 9. Stepping On is a well-researched falls prevention program, and it’s free to all who want to participate.

The prevention of falls is vital to maintaining personal independence. Older people understand that the threat of a fall can be a barrier to safely doing all the things they want to do at home and in their community.

The Stepping On workshop meets for two hours a week for seven weeks, teaching participants about improving muscle strength and balance and avoiding hazards that could lead to falls.
