Atlantic General Sleep Center Offers Free Mask Fitting Clinics

Sleep apnea, a disorder affecting millions of Americans, can cause daytime fatigue and contribute to a host of serious health problems including heart disease. While the reasons for sleep apnea may vary, it is often caused by the collapsing of the soft tissues in the walls of the throat, which results in sleep interruption and loss of precious sleep time.

A common treatment for this type of sleep apnea is the use of a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) device that forces oxygen into the airway. Atlantic General’s
Sleep Disorders Diagnostic Center is currently offering a series of mask-fitting clinics for those patients prescribed a CPAP device to treat their sleep apnea.

Anyone who is experiencing any difficulty with the fit and comfort of their mask can attend the clinic. An appointment is necessary so that the appropriate amount of time if allotted for the session.
