Atlantic General Hospital Leaders Named Fellow by American College of Healthcare Executives

ATLANTIC GENERAL HOSPITAL LEADER NAMED FELLOW BY AMERICAN COLLEGE OF HEALTHCARE EXECUTIVES

Berlin, Md. – Colleen Wareing, MS, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, FACHE, vice president of patient care services at Atlantic General Hospital, recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders.

Fellow status represents achievement of the highest standard of professional development. In fact, only 5,400 healthcare executives hold this distinction. To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional and community involvement. Fellows are also committed to ongoing professional development and undergo recertification every three years.

Wareing, who has more than 20 years of healthcare management experience, holds a bachelor of science in nursing from University of Delaware and a master of science from Columbia Pacific. She is also certified through the American Nursing Credentialing Center in Nursing Administration – Advanced.

Wareing is privileged to use the FACHE credential, which signifies board certification in healthcare management and ACHE Fellow status.

“Certification validates experience and knowledge in specific areas of nursing, and throughout my career I have advocated for nurses to achieve certification professionally,” said Wareing. “Having personally maintained specialty certification in nursing for more than 20 years, achieving Fellow in ACHE was a personal goal to demonstrate achievement in healthcare overall.”
