Hospital's 11th Annual Health Conference Agenda is Set

Community members can still register for Atlantic General Hospital’s 11th Annual Visions for Total Health Conference scheduled for Saturday, November 14.

This year’s conference, titled “The Changing Face of Healthcare,” will offer medical and holistic health expertise on a variety of topics, including healthy cooking, acupuncture, yoga inflammatory bowel disease, skin care and other important information.

The keynote performance, which will be given by Tony Award winner Sarah Jones, will take place at 10:30 a.m., with a number of health talks leading up to that event. The schedule is as follows:

8 a.m. – 10 a.m. – free health screenings, including cholesterol (12 hour fast), blood glucose (8 hour fast), PSAs, blood pressure screenings, foot screenings, vision and hearing screenings, and body composition
8:30 – 9:15 – free health talks: skin care, palliative care, LAP-BAND
9:30 – 10:15 – free health talks: intro to mental health, acupuncture, the role of diet in inflammatory bowel disease
10:30 – 11:30 – Keynote performance: Sarah Jones, “A Right to Care”
Demonstrations will occur from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m., and mini-therapy sessions in Reiki, massage and reflexology, exhibitors and food will be available throughout the conference from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
