Hospital Volunteer Group Sponsors Summer Fashion Show

The Junior Auxiliary Group (JAG) of Atlantic General Hospital will be hosting their Summer Solstice Fashion Show in June to benefit Atlantic General Hospital’s James G and Nancy W. Barrett Nursing Scholarship Fund. Eight hospital executives, board members and volunteers have agreed to walk the runway at Brandywine Assisted Living in the latest fashions from the Crazy Ladyz boutique in West Ocean City.

Tickets to the show will afford attendees a view of these guest models as well as appetizers, wine and beer, dinner and door prizes.

The details:

The models:
Atlantic General President and CEO Michael Franklin and his wife, Marianne, have generously agreed to model for this event, as have Joyce Brittan and Janet Morse of the hospital’s Auxiliary. JAG member Karen Bresnahan and hospital board member Russ Barrett have also volunteered. Brandon Shain and Erin Stolarz, two students currently enrolled in the scholarship program, will strut their stuff as well.

The scholarship fund:
The scholarship fund is named in honor of James G. and Nancy W. Barrett in recognition of the significant contributions the Barrett family has made to the hospital. James G. Barrett passed away in 2004 while serving as Chairman of the Atlantic General Hospital Board of Directors.

The program was created in 2000 to address workforce shortages within the healthcare industry. It provides selected nursing students with full payment of tuition and books, health care benefits and flexible work schedules.

Upon completion of their degree program and after passing the appropriate state licensure exams, scholarship recipients are required to work full-time at Atlantic General Hospital/Health System one year for each school year in the scholarship program. For more information about the scholarship fund, contact Alice Kalinowski at 410-641-9935 or akalinowski@atlanticgeneral.org.
