Atlantic General Hospital Offers Free Health Screenings at the Pavilions

07-15-2009
In today’s economy there’s not much that can one expect to get for free; but, we all need as many freebies as we can find. That is why Atlantic General Hospital has teamed up with the Pavilions owner in Ocean Pines to offer health screenings, information, education and fun activities for children and adults – all for free to everyone.

On August 1, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., there will be a health fair at the Pavilions office complex. Blood draws for cholesterol, glucose and PSA’s will begin at 8 a.m. Remember, a 12-hour fast is required. More than 35 exhibitors will be set up, many offering screenings for hearing, vision, foot health, respiratory, blood pressure, diabetes, spine health, dentistry and weight management. You can also register to become part of Healthy U Delmarva or learn about sun safety.

Beginning at 8:30, there will be 20-minute educational sessions on Alzheimer’s disease, hearing loss, childhood weight risks, Pilates and diabetes. If you would like to know more about any of these subjects, come out and attend the educational sessions. While at the fair, you might want to take advantage of the free massages that will be going on throughout the morning.

All exhibitors are health related and will have lots of information about health and wellness. Having fun is a great step toward wellness; so we have fun activities too. There will be a moon bounce for the children and face painting. You can visit “ Germ City ” and learn how many diseases are spread. What a fun and healthy way to spend a Saturday morning. This joint venture is sponsored by Atlantic General Hospital and CAMBR with assistance from many businesses in the community. Come join us on August 1 and see what we have to offer for FREE.
